UCD Post – Doctoral Research Fellow Level 1 or 2, UCD School of Veterinary Medicine (Temporary) 008815
The requirement for sustainable food production is a global issue to which the EU contributes as a major livestock producer. Climate change will undoubtedly impact on farm animal production, while the health and welfare of livestock is also of increasing public concern. An important and common currency in developing solutions to these challenges is to improve production efficiency. The GplusE project has received a multi-million Euro grant from European Union to focus on how this can be achieved for the dairy industry. The project will focus on the development of sustainable dairy cow production systems through the optimal integration of genomic selection with improved management, assisted by novel approaches to gathering reliable phenotypes.
